works anyway, and it's a pretty easy win. The only way to make this mission hard is grouping with random people.

To beat EotN? Clarify that.
I would say that to beat any campaign, you just need to beat the missions in it. In which case, the dungeons and everything associated with them are completely optional.
However if you say you need to complete titles or all the dungeons in EotN to "beat" it, then I say you need to do the DoA to "beat" Nightfall. The same applies to the Deep and Urgoz in Factions.

I also don't really regard Slaver's as an elite area. Certainly, it's not really special in anyway. It's difficult, but there's nothing fundamentally different about it compared to every other dungeon (bar Fronis Irontoe's, which is an anomaly). Slaver's plays like any other dungeon and they play very much like any other explorable; they just have a boss at the end and a reward for killing it.
This doesn't apply to any other elite area. I suppose it does to the Domain of Anguish to an extent, but that also pulls some very weird tricks.

Did it yesterday and nailed it on second try (NM).

Team was:
Monk with seed
War tank (+ some damage)
Imbagon
Barrage ranger
Me as Nuker
And a AoTl Minion bomber

Wiped onces due to ignorance, the monk jade boss in last group can heal (surprised look o.O) and blind was on poro...

Minutes before i went in with a less prepared group and failed when jade mobs came ( i was ER healer and peeps rushed in to die, eventho we had a tank... FAIL).

Anyways was fun and entertaining will maybe do it again just for the lolz.

I just finished this on my monk with a semi-modified Spiritway but not really. Mind you I've tried to do this quest on my monk countless times with H/H and was having all sorts of trouble until I resorted to Spiritway. Yeah, I'm a terrible monk but haters gonna hate

Myself (monk, lol) as SoS (OwgjANgsITVT+glTfTXTKTDgMTA)
Livia as AotL MM bomber (OANTUYD+USOoKANYLUBseIg4uC)
Xandra as SoGM (OAOj0MgMJPO7z23czFtzcGNnJA)
Whispers as Rt healer (OAhiYwh8gtzYSzJXVdYOOvYA)
Alesia & Claude for back up healing and energy support for the two spirit spammers.

This is where I flagged my heroes and the tactics (if you can even call it that, haha) I used to complete it. It was relatively easy with this setup so I'm kicking myself for not trying Spiritway or some variation of it sooner

Didn't have any wipes or "oh shi-" moments. It went very smooth. Yeah it might look terrible (because I am) but hey, it worked!

Finished it on second try.

Team consisted of:

AotL MM
SY! tank
2x Barrage ranger
Me; Spirit spammer
Hero: N/Rt generic healer

AoE daze and barrage helped a lot against jade armors.

Oh I quite enjoyed the battle for Lion's Arch. It was made for my ranger. Plus I love LA at night.

You were lucky. In my first 3 tries, I had 2..4 people not infused.

Those Jade Armors have the uncanny ability to pinpoint not infused people and target them right away.
Every time a Jade Armor or a Mursaat appeared, they died in under three seconds EVERY TIME they appeared. Every single time. With my mesmer it wasn't much of a problem. Me and dunkoro finished the thing by ourselves, but for other professions it meant that we had to resign, kick the not infused guys, tell them to get to the Iron Mines and try again, this time making sure everyone is infused.

I've done this on 3 of my characters.

Two random PuGs.
- One was a full human group, the other was 4/6 humans.
One with the boyfriend + heroes.

Didn't have any issues.

I pugged 3x, on 3 different chars, victory first time each time. As i already had some bad memories a long time ago from non infusion, I checked beforehand who was and wasn't infused. I also made sure to check their bars, I'm fairly lax when it comes to what bars people run but some bars give heavy indication that a person doesn't know what they are doing. In this kinda long mission, I'm not going to be lax and say, oh swap builds, no, if they don't know what they're at this point, they're not going to know how to play whatever bar I ping them.

On another note, I had a lot of fun running through the mission on the 4th time. Went from riverside assasination to lion's arch keep in approx 4 1/2hrs with one group. In one of the quests, we threw caution to the wind and brute forced through a gate fighting in one giant battle as hordes of patrols came in the middle of the fight. The funny thing was that with our number of spirits and minions, the numbers in the fight were roughly equal although they had periodic reinforcements. 3 minion masters on our side, + communing soul twister. It was a long fight and had a back and forth feel to it that made it very fun.

Well, I wish i was leet, cos I cannot beat this. I haven't tried it pre-update, but post-update.. ugh. Everything is super-smooth sailing up til after Isaiah. The first perfected jade comes in along with 20-odd buddies. It seems like it's 3 or 4 groups coming in at once. I die every time.

Kinda hard to help without knowing what your profession is, but 3 heroes that make this simple are:

AotL MM
SoS spirit spammer (micro Splinter weapon on rangers on hill! if/once they die, any physical)
Healing Burst/Necro resto healer

if you can fill one of these roles (but preferably not MM. people will tell you humans are better MMs, but no one can micro death nova like a hero - the entire point of a bomber, well and meatshields) then you can run a panic/VoR mesmer

I bring claude because even low level blood ritual is helpful - though he tends to explode a lot anyway. I also bring alesia, but it's more for the lulz than anything else. I suppose she gets an orison off before being 2 shotted.

I ran a standard spiritway and h/hed it my first try in HM post-update =\. Kinda sad how easy this became really, as it was the only area of the game that hadn't been h/hed in HM yet

I love how the first couple pages are of people saying "omglolitwassoeasyyoumustreallysucklol". I'm sure they mentioned a couple times that the sheer numbers were just insane. I made it first try with my fiance. We split on either side of the stairs - had an AotL, echo ss/barbs/mop (me), SoS (him), two UA, and I forgot the sixth. We didn't have a panic mes because neither one of us had unlocked it yet. I'm not going to say we blew right through it - it was intense, and the words "ridiculous" and "insanity" were uttered multiple times. I think we wiped once, which is when we decided to split. It was a lot of fun and we made it first try, but it was crazy hard. No cons.

The second time, I was a ranger and my friend was a warrior. We lost several times. He eventually got into a different group while I was offline, and I pugged as a splinter barrager, and we each made it first try like that. Again, it was intense, but we made it. I think the other ranger popped some cons.

I can't say anything about how it is now, though. I hear they've eased the difficulty back a bit, but I haven't done WiK with anyone since they did it.

Finally managed to do it with a great PUG. We litteraly tore through the waves in Lion's Arch like a fist through paper.

K, just finished it. Was fun cos wasnt to difficult, when u use good advice regarding this quest (mentioned in this topic).

I used a Searing Flames nuke build (no surprise there ), with Me secondary using Pain Inverter (for bosses and hex for CoP) and Cry of Pain

I used for H/H:
Livia with a N/Rt resto heal build
Olias with some minion master/bomber build, with Mo secondary using a res skill and Dwayna's Sorrow.
Gwen with an domination/inspiration interrupt build, including Panic

and Alesia and Dunham.

I positioned my whole party the whole time at the end of the top of the first stairs.

Alesia died twice i think, a few times someone else almost.
But nothing that seemed to really worry about.

I did use some consumables, though hindside may have not really been needed.

OK, me saying BfLA was not bad, means its to easy now right

Did it with a friend first try, no problems had random assortment of heroes kahmu, gwen, vekk and koss i think, just running fairly average bars ... not sure what all the qqing is about. Neither one of us was infused either.
